Speaker: Katherine Snyder, M.ED
Emotional Behavioral Disorders Teacher, PreK-12

According to NAMI, 41,000 individuals die by suicide each year. The CDC reports that suicide is the third leading cause of death in children 15-19. Suicidal thoughts alongside mental health conditions can affect anyone. As educators, we have the opportunity to look for risk factors in the educational environment and connect with families on a highly stigmatizing subject. Come hear my story as a suicide loss survivor and how it impacted my career and guided me. Get the information you need and look for warning signs, navigate the mental health system, and feel more prepared for a crisis. When we create a learning environment that is inclusive for children with mental health needs we can help rid the stigma attached to mental health diagnosis and suicide.

Participants will receive two certificates of attendance (CEUs for teachers). One will state one hour of suicide prevention. The other certificate will state one hour of mental health.

Register and pay webinar fee of $10/person online today.  Once registration is received a link to the webinar will be emailed.
