LDA Minnesota is seeking an adjunct faculty for our Math Strategies Course.  This course is part of LDA’s Institute for Special Educators, an alternative teacher preparation program in Minnesota.  Teacher candidates preparing for the Academic Behavioral Strategist special education license in Minnesota participate in this course.

Job Duties:
Deliver LDA's Math Strategies Course scheduled for Fall 2023.  This 15 week course meets once per week from 4:45pm-7:30pm online with some in-person class sessions available, per instructor discretion. The Math Strategies course is part of LDA Minnesota's alternative ABS licensure program.  It includes curricula analysis, case studies, and instructional strategies.
Experience Desired:
  • Math Teaching License with a minimum of 5 years of successful experience teaching students.  Special Education license, preferred but not required.
  • Experience in one more of the following: leading teachers within a school setting, teaching college level teacher candidates, providing training to groups of teachers, professionals and parents, and teaching adult learners.
  • Working familiarity with IEPs, 504 Plans, multi tiered systems of support, and Universal Design Instruction.
  • Ability to work effectively with teacher candidates, children, adolescents, adults and parents representing diversity of race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, sexual preference, cultural background, and educational level.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
