How Your Books Can Help

Recent studies show that in middle class neighborhoods have 13 books per child, while in low-income neighborhoods there is only one book for every 300 children.

Your donation of new or gently-used* books will make a difference in the lives of children who struggle with literacy throughout the inner-city Minneapolis/St. Paul area. Please consider a company book drive, neighborhood book drive, or group activity to sponsor a book drive. Download the Book drive 2017 toolkit and learn how to host a book drive for LDA Minnesota.  Or, use our Amazon Wishlist to find books that can be shipped directly to LDA’s office.

Each year LDA Minnesota distributes books to more than 500 low-income students whose families cannot afford these books on their own. Especially during the summer and winter break months, your books will help maintain a child’s reading level to ensure they do not fall further behind!

Help us reach our annual goal of 5,000 books and provide a needy child with the ability to reach his/her learning potential throughout the year.
