Purpose of this site:
The purpose of the information presented here is to inform individuals with learning difficulties and learning disabilities what problems can prevent them from learning efficiently. Researchers are just beginning to unlock the mysteries of how the parts of the brain work together in order to learn. It is important to keep in mind that learning requires the brain to be both structurally and chemically sound.

The information on this site is not meant to diagnose learning disabilities. Hopefully you will develop an understanding that learning disorders are real, persistent, and chronic conditions that develop from how well the brain functions in part and as a whole.

Mission:
The mission of Learning Disabilities Association, Inc. is to maximize the potential of children, youth and adults with learning disabilities (LD) or related learning difficulties so that they and their families lead more productive and fulfilled lives. Today, LDA is the Twin Cities' leading nonprofit educational agency specializing in learning disabilities for people of all ages.
