Clients of LDA's Individualized Tutoring
& Assessment Services
Donna, mother
"I consider LDA a 'safe house' for both me and
my child. It's a place we can go where people understand
without judging or assuming. The opportunity for tutoring
has been a special gift for which I am grateful. I know
that the positive experience will last Lisa throughout
her life. I only wish we found you sooner!"
John, adult assessment client
Thank you, LDA! You helped me find out about my
learning disability. You
have no idea how much of a relief it isfor me to look
in the mirror and no
longer say to myself, You are a fraud, but
instead, You are really smart, and
you just have this learning deal that you need to get
around.

Transition Program
Tony
"I've learned what I'm going to do when I get older.
I learned what I.E.P. stood for, too. And how to plan
for your future and that you get one chance in life
and take it step by step."
Jamie
"What I've learned is the true value of life, money,
and job interests. You made me feel that I have a good
future and let me know what my area is."
Tami
"I learned that there is a big world out there with
many opportunities and that I should continue to learn
more even when I am done with school. The better experience
I have, the better job, and the better money, I will
be able to make."
Learning Connections Intensive
Interventions
Janie, grade 3
"Before I got into [Learning Connections] I didn't
even like to read, but now I read chapter books. I never
thought of going to college or anything like that, but
I want to be a Kindergarten teacher and read to my kids."
Minneapolis Elementary School Principle
Thank you, LDA! Your Learning Connections intensive
reading instruction is one of the most effective interventions
Ive observed in my 26 years of school administration.
Educational Workshop Participants
Bonnie, teacher
"The presenter did an excellent job of speaking from
the heart on behalf of children in a professional, crisp,
humorous, and respectful manner. Insights help us to
remember to do things we have learned."
Terrell, literacy volunteer
"They introduced information that many people outside
of education are unfamiliar with. The presenter was
enthusiastic and drew everyone's attention. He used
activities that involved them personally."

Terri
"My first session with Terri was spent studying for
an upcoming test. The test covered one of Terri's biggest
obstacles: multiplying and dividing fractions. We worked
hard, plowing through problems until something wonderful
happened. We found some strategies she had not been
taught that really helped her succeed.
After having to wait two weeks due to weather, Terri
strolled in that Monday evening with a smile on her
face. I said, 'You know, I have to ask you how you did
on that fraction test.' She confidently replied, 'I
got an A.' We celebrated together, and I realized that
these are the moments that keep us doing what we do.
It's all about building success and maximizing student's
potential to live fully. I look forward to guiding Terri
to further 'victories.'"
Brad
"Brad was a home-schooled child who was having some
problems with reading and spelling. He had not been
showing much improvement when I was asked to tutor him.
For six weeks, twice a week, I did intensive reading
instruction with him, using the Sonday System. After
those twelve sessions were over, I was amazed to see
the results. Brad had shown a 1.5 grade level gain in
reading, (2.5-4.0) and a 54% gain in spelling (42%-96%).
That was the biggest rate of growth I had ever seen
using this particular reading program. His parents were
awestruck! His dad's jaw dropped. His mom said, 'You
have no idea how much LDA has made a difference in my
son's life.'"
